The Marion Downs Hearing Center provides a variety of diagnostic and intervention speech-language services for individuals with hearing loss, including:

  • Assessment and diagnosis of delays in speech-language development
  • Individualized speech-language therapy for children and adults
  • Cochlear implant candidacy evaluations and on-going speech processor programmings
  • Auditory training to maximize benefit from hearing aids, osseointegrated devices, and cochlear implants
  • Consultative services for educators working with deaf and hard of hearing children

  • Infant does not startle to loud noise
  • No babbling by 9 months of age
  • No spoken language by 18-24 months of age
