The Marion Downs Hearing Center provides a variety of diagnostic and intervention speech-language services for individuals with hearing loss, including:
- Assessment and diagnosis of delays in speech-language development
- Individualized speech-language therapy for children and adults
- Cochlear implant candidacy evaluations and on-going speech processor programmings
- Auditory training to maximize benefit from hearing aids, osseointegrated devices, and cochlear implants
- Consultative services for educators working with deaf and hard of hearing children
Hearing loss can lead to delays in an individual's ability to produce sounds, learn to talk, and communicate. If you notice any of the following, contact us for an assessment:
- No response to sound
- Infant does not startle to loud noise
- No babbling by 9 months of age
- No spoken language by 18-24 months of age
- Poor voice quality at any age
